Founded in 2001, ZAP Engineering and Construction Services, Inc. (ZAP ECS) is a full-service engineering and construction management company serving the gas processing, pipeline, field services, petroleum, refinery, chemical and alternative energy industries. From engineering and design to project controls and construction management, ZAP ECS brings decades of expertise to the gas processing industry and related-energy companies. The diverse backgrounds of our project team allow ZAP ECS to bring focused knowledge to unique processes including gasification technologies, power generation and methanol/ethanol production. ZAP ECS is committed to providing their clients with quality services in a cost effective and timely manner.

ZAP ECS’s office is located in Lakewood, Colorado. Since the office was opened in 2001, the company has experienced growth and diversification in the types of projects undertaken. ZAP ECS currently employs a number of full-time and contract professionals that offer a variety of specialized services.

ZAP ECS uses a team approach in the execution of projects and applies the individual experience and unique talents of each of its engineers, designers, and support personnel.

Steve Tzap, P.E.
Chief Executive Officer
Registered Professional Engineer with 35 years of industry experience in the process design, project management, construction and operation of gas plants, production facilities, and refineries. Gas processing experience includes compression, oil/gas separation, pipelines, dehydration, CO2 separation with membranes, NGL extraction with lean oil or cryogenically, amine treating, sulfur removal and tail gas cleanup units, cryogenic air separation and CO2 recovery processes for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), fractionation of NGL's, nitrogen rejection, LNG liquefaction, helium recovery and hydrogen production.

Carl Soderman
President
Soderman joins ZAP Engineering and Construction Services, Inc. as a recognized leader in engineering and operations with over 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry. His responsibilities have included engineering management, operations management, project development, project management and operations engineering. In directing groups in a leadership role, responsibilities have included asset planning and development, asset optimization, acquisition and merger due diligence and integration, and project delivery.

More than 20 years of experience in engineering design with Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Mining and Hazardous Waste projects.

20 years of experience in the oil and gas engineering industry with a focus on gas process design including syngas.

Registered Professional Engineer with 32 years of experience in the oil, gas, chemical, mining, and nuclear industries.
