Position:                      Project Engineer – Pipeline and Facilities

Reporting To:             Mechanical Engineering Manager

Direct Reports:          None

Job Description:      The position is for a Pipeline Engineer with 3 -5 years’ experience doing detailed engineering work within a pipeline project team.   The role is performing pipeline engineering tasks while working in a fast paced atmosphere.  Experience in oil and gas facilities engineering a plus. Opportunity includes advancement into Project Engineering role where candidate will be responsible for coordination between disciplines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hydraulics
    • Steady State (Transient modeling is a plus)
  • Familiar with and capable of producing / reviewing Material Specifications
    • Line Pipe
    • Induction Bends
    • Fittings
    • Coating
    • Valves
    • Generating Bills of Material
  • Familiar with and capable of designing HDD road crossings, and calculating vehicle crossing stresses per API 1102
  • Assists in developing pipe specifications
  • Familiar with applicable ASME / API codes and DOT Title 49 Part 192 / 195 federal regulations
  • Understands the concept of station design and works effectively with the piping design group in developing 3-D valve station and pigging facility models
  • Assists in reviewing of construction documents
    • Alignment Sheets
    • Piping Plans
  • Provide engineering support for construction
  • Producing project cost estimates
  • Writing Scope of Work and Design Basis documents

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Pipeline Industry
  • Candidate with previous pipeline project experience is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-starter with ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand P&ID’s, Alignment Sheets and Piping Plans
