Mechanical Engineer, 4-7 yrs exp

Reporting To:  Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

Direct Reports:  None

Job Description:  Mechanical / Project Engineer with 4-7 years of experience to work for an engineering consulting firm in the oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors. Candidates from the oil and gas, mining, cement, or mineral processing industries are required. Candidate will be responsible for Mechanical Engineering and Project Engineering tasks while working in a fast paced atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities – Specifying equipment including:

o Compressors

o Pumps

o Pressure vessels

o Tanks / Silos

o Conveying Equipment

o Pipe, valves and fittings

· Evaluating vendor proposals

· Reviewing equipment drawings

· Developing pipe specifications, ASME and DOT

· Working with piping design group in developing 3-D plant model

· Reviewing construction documents of all disciplines

· Engineering support for construction

· Producing project cost estimates

· Writing Scope of Work and Design Basis documents

· Coordinating between engineering disciplines

· Reported engineering progress to Project Manager and Client

Requirements:

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

· 4 to 7 years of experience in the oil and gas, mining, cement, or mineral processing industries

· Self-starter that can multi task

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Ability to understand all engineering discipline drawing packages

· Experience with pipeline hydraulics, pipe stress or HVAC is a plus

· Professional Engineering license is preferred
